Join us for our fourth annual cybersecurity seminar! This year’s theme is incident response. You’ll hear presentations from our Security, Audit, and Compliance team as well as other industry experts on how we respond to cyberattacks.
A panel of experts will host a Q and A session to discuss the current threat landscape. We will also have a networking reception immediately following the event, allowing you to mingle with the presenters and your peers.

About the Presenters
Tyler Booker, Auditor, Carolinas IT
Tyler works with the Security, Audit and Compliance team in completing security risk and other compliance-related assessments. Tyler also performs phishing tests and security awareness trainings for clients while also executing the internal audit function for the company to remain compliant with AICPA requirements to maintain their SOC 2 Type 2 certification. He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting with a concentration in Internal Audit from NC State University. Tyler successfully obtained the ISACA CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals certification in 2016. He continues to work with Carolinas IT to build a set of core competencies in IT governance, information systems security assessment and systems validation.
John B. Coupland, Executive Vice President, HUB International
A 40-year veteran of the insurance industry, John partners with growth-oriented, early-stage to middle-market companies to design and manage insurance and risk management programs. Special areas of focus include: Technology/Life Science, Real Estate, Alternative Markets/Captive, Energy/Fuel Industry, Healthcare, Non-Profit Organizations. John graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and holds the professional certification of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.
Gary Daemer, President and Founder, InfusionPoints
Gary is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with over 30 years of experience. He founded InfusionPoints ten years ago to help improve his clients cybersecurity posture. He has led multiple security consulting teams at Booz | Allen | Hamilton and American Management Systems work in the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense. He also worked in industry as a Program Manager, Security Architect, and Enterprise Security Integration Engineer with ATT and Lowe’s, where he honed his cyber security leadership, management, and operations skills. He led many enterprise security efforts for State and Federal Agencies, telecommunications, aerospace, manufacturing, retail, banking, and insurance industries. His teams have implemented multiple cybersecurity solutions and security operation centers. Gary has a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from UNC Charlotte and MS in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech and holds several Industry Certifications as well.
Kyle Hanslovan, Co-Founder, Huntress Labs
After 10 years of supporting Offensive Cyber Operations within the U.S. Intelligence Community, Kyle co-founded Huntress Labs. Prior to this, he started the defense consulting firm StrategicIO and won the World Series of hacking (DEF CON’s Capture the Flag competition). Although Huntress takes most of his time, he’s still active in the ethical hacking community. You can find him instructing at Black Hat, presenting research at security conferences, and proudly serving in the Maryland Air National Guard as a Cyber Warfare Operator.
Jason Likens, Sales Engineer, Rubrik
Jason has worked in system and network engineering for 15 years. His focus has recently evolved to include technical sales engineering, allowing him to apply his engineering background to help multiple customers achieve and exceed their goals and targets. Before transitioning to his role as a Technical Solutions Engineer, his focus was on medium sized corporations. Jason has worked as a Project Manager, a Systems Engineer, Storage Engineer, and as a Network Engineer. He has first-hand experience with VoIP phone systems, firewalls, and various applications.
Greg Manson, Director of Security Audit and Compliance, Carolinas IT
Greg has 18 years’ experience as an IT Director for organizations in compliant environments including healthcare, medical device, and pharmaceuticals. He has an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems from Indiana University and an MBA from UNC-Wilmington. Greg is an ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor, passing his exam in the 90th percentile. Greg’s initiative led to the creation of our Security Audit and Compliance team, which now focuses on framework-based assessments (NIST, HIPAA, ISO), Internal Audit as a Service (IAaaS), Penetration Testing and Virtual CISO offerings.
Alexi Pappas, Senior Auditor, Carolinas IT
Alexi was formerly a Network Security and Compliance Manager for a SaaS startup business in the Triad. She has a bachelor’s degree in Network Security Management and recently validated her experience in IT governance, risk, and compliance through receiving her CISA. She works with new and existing clients to ensure they are current in their control environment and compliant with applicable regulations. Alexi has an extensive background in agile product development controls, SOC 2 Type II Audit Reporting and has consulted for vendors on compliance strategies, audit policies, and regulations. She is a leading expert on IT compliance with over 4 years’ experience in IT-control and operations. Her expertise extends to a variety of topics including security breaches, audit and compliance, and application development standards.
Caleb Pipkin, Associate Auditor, Carolinas IT
Caleb has been with Carolinas IT since April 2017 providing assistance to the Security Audit and Compliance team by completing security risk assessments and managing incident response. He previously worked as a Help Desk technician and manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a degree in Computer Science and completed the CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals certification issued by ISACA.
