Carolinas IT Expands Team With Five New Employees

Carolinas IT is pleased to welcome the following employees to our team:

Trey Ferstler is a Solutions Engineer Intern. He has lived in Raleigh most of his life. His parents and own and operate Michaelangelo’s, a pizza place in Holly Springs, where he’s spent several years working. Currently, Trey is finishing his Associates Science degree at Wake Tech this semester, with projected completion in May. Outside of work, Trey enjoys playing pool-so much in fact that he plays on three teams! Trey works out of our RTP office.

Rob Nance is a Senior Systems Engineer with our Professional Services team. He has been living and working in the Raleigh area since moving here in 2007, from Austin, TX.  Rob started out in the Air Force working in telecom and networking and moved over to the IT side of things not long after getting out. Rob has worked for a few MSP and hosting companies and brings a level of expertise and knowledge to the team from a career spent in the industry. Rob has worked on just about everything but will be joining the team to provide high-level systems experience. Rob enjoys many hobbies, including Sim racing, RC planes & cars, video games, kayaking, fishing, and 3D printing. Rob works out of our HQ office.

Mike Giordano is a Technical Support Specialist working out of the RTP office. His previous experience includes working at another local MSP and Cloud WaaS provider. In his free time, Mike enjoys bowling, going to Hurricanes games, and playing both tabletop and video games.

Marc Colonna is a Senior Systems Engineer on our Professional Services Team. He previously worked as a Network Engineer and Systems Administrator for St Francis of Assisi Church and School. He also has previous IT experience at an outdoor power equipment company and a local TV station. Marc is a graduate of Carolina Career College and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Network Technology and Internet Security at ECU.  Most of his time outside of work is spent at home with his wife and 4 children.  When he can, he likes to dabble in movies, video games, wrestling, football, and hockey.

Drew Hollander is a Project Manager who will be assisting in planning, organizing and outlining responsibilities during the lifecycle of company projects across our different service offerings. Drew and his wife are empty nesters in Wake Forest (albeit with two dogs, a Saint Bernard and a little Franklin County special). Drew’s last job spanned 30+ years with same company (although the name changed several times – EDS/HPE/DXC Technology) taking him to many cities including Grand Rapids, Detroit, Dallas, Kuala Lumpur, London, Rochester, NY and then Raleigh (last 20+ years).  During that time he gained technical, project management, leadership and software development experiences covering multiple operating systems and platforms as a software developer, software supervision and then a Project Manager. Drew has been PMP certified since May 2005 and holds US Software Patent # 5,778,350.  Drew served as a Municipal Court Judge when he lived in Texas at the invitation of the Melissa City Council.
